Posted by Pulelehua at 07:06 0 comments
Fran is back... Yes, it has been a while! Well, between work, school and workouts there is not that much time left. Mind you: it is summer and it has been a great sunny summer so I spent sundays at lakes or in the pool.

Anyway, what's new: I'll have a photo shoot today!!!

Will post pictures when I get them. The pictures will be used for a jewellery catalogue and homepage. I am excited, since it has been a while.

Visit :*chen

Posted by Pulelehua at 19:22 0 comments
FINALLY, it has been over a month... I am writing about the major event I was included in, while being in Germany, and I tried to keep memories alive by taking as many pictures as I could:

One of my best friends, I call her "Augensternchen" aka LARA (Augen = Eyes, Sternchen = Star). The word has a long history and not a lot of people know what it actually means and what it has to do with us.
Well at this point I officially say THANK YOU to a silly guy who brought us together!!! THANKS Mister Aust!!!!

Anyway, back to the sweet 4 days I stayed with her. I don't see her that often and I miss her a lot because we have so many things in common and when we see each other it feels as if we haven't seen each other only a few weeks ago!!!

Let's start by posting a few pictures of Wednesday:
After spending 9 days in Berlin, I left my home tome on Wednesday to fly to Cologne. Lara picked me up... we both shed some pounds and were actually conscious of what we were eating, but not that day: we went to an all you can eat sushi place and INDULGED!!!!

Good Bye Berlin
Welcome on board FRAN
"Ueber den Wolken"
ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHIIIIIIIIIIII

AND WE INDULGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a nice first day and caught up on a lot of things (we met the last time in Berlin, Christmas 2009)... One thing on our list was a pedicure for Lara, so we went to a place close to her home and had luck to get a service without appointment. I should have taken a picture of the woman who did the pedicure. I would call her in german "eine alte verschrumpelte kettenrauchende kosmetikerin" (something close to be called an old wrinkely chainsmoking cosmetic practitioner), but even though she smoked 2 cigarettes during our 30 minute pedicure, she did a good service...

The day ended up with a walk/run close to her house and I think we are both pretty upset about the fact that we didn't have a camera on us...

I met her Fiance Bjoern that night (it has been a lot of years since I've seen him) and we all chilled till we called it a night.

THURSDAY, May 7th 2011:

Good Morning Fran
(Lara told me later she was making noise hoping for me to wake up)
WAXING = Ouch
Filling out papers to agree to upcoming PAIN! ;)
Do you still shave? Or switched to waxing???
barely a smile, but she survived :)
heads in front of a church, don't ask me why!?!?!
worst place ever!!! the need to change name into shittiest nails ever!!!
I simply call her "Miss Plastic"

To be smoked after a shitty experience, the last cigarette which is meant to bring LUCK ("Glueckszigarette)

The only picture that exists of "worst nails"
How thick is your middle finger? It calls for a FUKC YOU!

Finally at night:
Shitty Nails were taken off, we spent 10 hours that day with Lara's nails

EXHAUSTED!
Skin Treatment and listening to wedding songs :)

FRIDAY, May 6th 2011:

Wedding Day Morning :)
Hmmmm, what can this be for breakfast??? And who made it???
It's an Egg McMuffin (gets you through a day of drinking)
And this is how it looks when you enjoy an EggMcMuffin (she inhaled it!)
YUMM
Now, what I learned from going through this is:
you'll be better of doing your make-up yourself
if you are usually not bad in it...
otherwise you might run into risk of looking like a transvestite if you don't stop early enough
(Thank god she stopped it)

A song that describes best in what kind of mood I am...
Makes me wanna jump/ dance!

Feel the adrenaline moving under my skin
It’s an addiction such an eruption
Sound is my remedy feeding me energy
Music is all I need.

Berlin was awesome, great weather (compared to Toronto) and an amazing time with friends and family.
Thanks to everybody who came out to meet and made this trip a wonderful memory.

Summary of the last days:

I was sick or better: I am still sick! I stayed home one night in order to get some rest and give my body some time to recover... well the run the next morning wasn't the greatest idea!
Anyway, I met Claudia and Carolin, friends I went to school with (1st grade)... I know them since I was 7 years old. I met them at the Midtown Grill and we had some Belitzer Asparagus (Germans know how delicious it is!)... I loved grabbing out old pictures and sharing memories! Definitely a FUN time... thanks girlzzz

I was packing today...
the task was to fit everything into on suitcase which shouldn't be heavier than 20 kilograms...
it turned into an almost 'whole day project'
In the evening I met Tim, a good old friend of mine, and Nicole and Holger which I haven't seen since I left in March 2008 and moved to Canada.
They made this trip complete, it was a great last night before I move on to Cologne in the morning.

Here are some pics:

Soon, I will be on my way to my friend Lara, the friend who is the reason for being in Germany around this time of the year... (aside of the importance of seeing my family at least twice a year!!!)
Good Bye Berlin ;'-)

Another Milestone... A Sunday to remember :)

I have forgiven mistakes that were indeed almost unforgivable. I've tried to replace people who were irreplaceable and tried to forget those who were unforgettable.
I've acted on impulse; have been disappointed by people when I thought that this could never be possible. But I have also disappointed those who I love. I have laughed at inappropriate occasions. I've made friends that are now friends for life.
I've screamed and jumped for joy. I've loved and I've been loved. But I have also been rejected and have been loved without loving the person back. I've lived for love alone and made vows of eternal love. I've had my heart broken many, many times!
I've cried while listening to music and looking at old pictures. I've called someone just to hear his or her voice on the other side. I've fallen in love with a smile. At times, I thought I would die because I missed someone so much. At other times, I felt very afraid that I might loose someone very special. But I have lived!
And I still continue living every day. I'm not just passing through life.... Live!!! The best thing in life is to go ahead with all your plans and your dreams, to embrace life and to live every day with passion, to loose and still keep the faith and to win while been grateful.
All of this because the world belongs to those who dare to go after what they want. And because life is really too short to be insignificant!!!

Those words describe pretty much my life in 22 sentences ;) And I never would have thought that I will be posting words and pictures about this day. It has been years that i've seen my sister and even though I took pictures of my grandmothers grave, I always have kept them to myself. I used those pictures for grief and to have a part of her with me wherever I go...
A few people know, that my grandmother meant and still means a lot to me, I think words don't exist to describe it!!!

This is also the moment where I would like to clarify that I write about my experiences purely from a personal standpoint: the reason why I will not often be using names of friends (or people I come across) throughout this blog - because I can not speak for them! This blog gives opportunity to post comments, feel free to share thoughts...

Anyway, back to my little trip today: I went to a place where my grandma "lives" since 13.5 years. The cemetery is an hour away from Berlin. I enjoyed the drive! Well, as you can see I will be introducing the german AUTOBAHN via pictures and video :)

BERLIN CITY GIRL
listened to it during the ride in my car :)

I arrived and sit there for an hour or two. It was a sunny windy day, warm enough to sit still and read outside when covered in a thick sweater.
Coming back home to me, means visiting my grandmother too!
And yes, I got a sign as soon as I asked for one :)

Never forget that once upon a time, in an unguarded moment, you recognized yourself as a friend.

A few minutes later, I found myself at a place I had never been before. I visited my sister, we haven't seen each other for a longer time, the time before I went to Australia (which was in 2007). I didn't pay attention to the time, i was shocked when I realized that it was 9pm and it was time to leave!

It was an emotional day, more details will be kept to myself. Overall: an important day for me!!!

Weird, you stop right in front of a red light in Germany
(in front of intersection)
